Just before my 24th birthday I walked into a very prominent tattoo shop in St. Paul to get my birthday tattoo. There I met the man that would teach me the art that has become my life. He and I opened a shop in Stillwater, MN. I was his apprentice for three years. In that time I made needles, did line drawings, colored in flash, cleaned tubes, answered phones, talked to customers and basically learned the business.
People ask me how I got into tattooing. I tell them I basically fell into it. I wasn't looking to be a tattooist... it found me! Now it's all I do.
